After a huge crochet slump recently made a baby afghan for an old high school friend. After some discussion decided we hadn't seen each other nor talked in 43 years. Found one another through our high school group on Facebook. Isn't social media great!
Anyway, he sent message that his daughter's baby shower was "next" Saturday (this was Sunday, prior) and would I make him a blanket. This meant I had 4 days to completely finish, so he could pickup on Friday.
Made a 30 inch granny square in RHSS petal pink and pink camo. Turned out real pretty. Picture will be available soon. Biggest problem was I didn't get rounds turned when I should have so ended up not being completely square. Wouldn't you know it!
My friend liked it anyway, and was real nice about the imperfection.
Now, getting time to get some new leg warmers designed and made for fall and winter.

Am in the process of designing a sock pattern. Have done a great deal of research centered around foot measurements, basic sock designs, and heel designs. There are a lot of great ideas and sources available to assist with making a sock, so research, research and try, try until you get the result you want.
My design is an accumulation of ideas and not completely formulated yet, but do have the start finalized for a toe up pattern. At this point calculating various size stitch counts.
Haven't made a sock nor slipper for over 30 years, so should be interesting as I progress through the process. My foot and my daughter's foot are the current models.
Making more of a "house" sock/slipper type than a regular wearing sock for the template, will be easy to adjust with my calculations, so when done will be something for any "type" of sock wanted.
Stay tuned for updates.

Once again, I have been neglected my blog. In a crochet slump, and decided I needed something to really challenge my mind so started a Javascript programming course through Khan Academy. It really challenges my mind as am needing math concepts I learned 50 years ago and haven't used since. However, coming along satisfactorily.
Crocheting has been slow as I can't think of anything I want to make at this point, and haven't got any inspiration. Both Mom and my daughter aren't helping (they, typically, get my creations. Don't sell many completed projects, mostly patterns.
Do need to make some coasters to replace the ones I made several years ago. Those are looking pretty ragged. Getting to be spring so should get my bottle carrier patterns out and worked up for spring and summer activities. Those will be on my list for the remainder of the month.
Everyone have a great spring.

I have been very negligent about posting to my blog for the past few months. No real excuse. But have been busy learning JavaScript and designing a few patterns.
Since Odie’s sweater I have made curtain tie backs and just completed a commission project for 2 baby afghans, bunny beanie and diaper cover.
The afghans are about 36” square and a basic diagonal block (C2C) pattern stitch, with a wide border of single crochet, extended double crochet and modified rice stitch. See below. Color sequences are 4 white/2 blue, increase through row 48, beginning decrease with row 49 and 5 pink/2 grey/2 pink/2 grey increase through row 47, beginning decrease with row 48.
The bunny hat and diaper cover are pictured below as well. The pattern can be found in my Craftsy store at: http://www.craftsy.com/user/7561095/pattern.store
